Learning becomes visible when teachers and school leaders see assessment as feedback about their impact.

Why visible learning?

A colleague recommended reading Ron Ritchhart’s ‘Making Thinking Visible’ last year. I was inspired to try out some of the routines and was impressed by the connections the students were making and the prior knowledge and understanding I was able to illicit from their responses to the engagements. Wanting to share my experiences I offered a workshop at the ESF CPD day later in the year.

The SNAPSHOTS project has enabled me to further develop my interest into making thinking and learning visible and empowering students to be the driving forces on their learning journeys.
