  • Using dictionaries/thesauruses and talking partners  ‘unpack’ PYP Thinking Skills and turn into child-speak

  • Record on ‘Thinking Skills Capacity Matrix’(Click on Thumbnail opposite). Learners can self-assess where they are at the start of the unit and evidence will be added each week of when the different thinking skills have been used. Learners can monitor their growth.

  • Select a few thinking routines to do a few times and get learners to reflect on the types of thinking they used

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • During weekly reflection time collect examples of different types of thinking skills used during which areas of the curriculum. CLICK HERE FOR EXAMPLE

  • Individually (where appropriate) learners choose one of the class examples to further reflect on CLICK HERE FOR EXAMPLE

  • 2 or 3 thinking skills chosen to be a focus in next units of inquiries
