My dream- stop wasting time marking!

Fantasy?

The dream was to minimise the workload for teachers without compromising our professional integrity and our accountability in regards to student feedback. The shift in the way we teach has not been matched with a shift in how we provide feedback.

We, on the whole, still rely on pen and paper ‘marking’ as it’s the easiest, most visible method to which parents can understand and relate. However, it takes up a huge amount of time, can often fall to the bottom of the ‘to-do’ list meaning children aren’t receiving timely feedback on their learning. The knock on effect here is that our students are missing valuable learning opportunities. I wanted to learn about the best, most time efficient methods of feedback which would have the greatest impact on student achievement.
